History

Birthday

August 28, 1952

Background

He received the B.E., M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering in 1975, 1977 and 1982, respectively, all from Osaka University. He is a professor of Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University. He worked at the Center for Robotic Systems in Microelectronics affiliated with the University of California, Santa Barbara from 1987 to 1988 as a visiting associate professor. He was a visiting professor of the Institude of Space and Astronautical Science (NASDA) from 1995 to 1997. His current research interests include learning and adaptive control, medical robotics, and space robotics.
